Theatre in Education, TIE, is widely used in western countries to enhance classroom educational experiences.

TIE is a theatre experience with a focus on educational outcomes. It makes use of theatre techniques to create a fresh and dramatic learning process for children. In TIE programmes, situations of dramatic conflict are set up to help students explore universal problems and possibilities of life, relationships and the world. The major aim of TIE is to provide a heightened learning experience where students are both challenged and entertained.

TIE can be a great resource to enhance programmes within the classroom or as a stand alone educational experience. It is especially effective as a learning medium because of its live and interactive nature.
